(SOL6567) MAC addresses are stored in two places for BIG-IP systems:
L2 Forwarding Database (FDB). The FDB is stored on the switch chip, sometimes called an ASIC. This database is integral to L2 switching decisions.
The TMM ARP table. The ARP table, maintained by TMM, is used for L3 routing and proxying decisions.
