(SOL2397) Hardwired failover
Hardwired failover is based on heartbeat detection, where one BIG-IP unit continuously sends voltage to another. If a response does not initiate from one BIG-IP system, failover to the peer occurs in less than one second. When BIG-IP redundant devices connect using a hardwired failover cable, the system automatically enables hardwired failover.
