(SOL2397) Serial cable failover
Serial cable failover is based on heartbeat detection, where voltage is continuously sent from one BIG-IP unit to another. If a response does not initiate from one BIG-IP system, failover to the peer occurs in less than one second. When BIG-IP redundant devices are connected using a failover cable, serial cable failover is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled by a BIG-IP administrator.
